Dear SHS Parents and Guardians,
It has been a fabulous week at SHS filled with meaningful, high-quality learning experiences. Did you know that we are committed to ensuring every student graduates life ready?
You may be wondering what this looks like in Splendora ISD. In 8th grade, students take a career interest inventory and visit their top three choices at SHS. Then, they meet with their counselors to discuss programs of study and career pathways before their freshman year.
Starting this year, SHS Counselors are meeting with every student twice a year to ensure they understand their pathway and next steps. This is pretty fascinating since SISD offers 22 Career Pathways, Advanced Academics, and/or Military Readiness to choose from in order to ensure there is evidence of being life-ready by graduation! I encourage you to ask your high school student about their pathway and reach out to their counselor if you have any additional questions. We truly appreciate your continued support!
