A Note From the Principal

8/30/2026

Dear SHS Families,
Wildcat Spirit is filling the halls of Splendora High School, and it is exciting to see our students embracing the energy, pride, and opportunities that come with being a Wildcat! Our students are being challenged through high-quality learning experiences designed to build strong academic skills, confidence, and the knowledge they need to be Life Ready for college, career, or the military. We are proud of the focus and positive momentum we are seeing across our campus!
Parents and Guardians, your partnership makes a tremendous difference. Please encourage your student to be at school every day, arrive on time, get to every class on time, come prepared to learn, and make choices that reflect their goals and the pride they have in themselves and their school. Every minute matters, and every choice contributes to their success. We value your partnership as we work together to make this a year filled with academic excellence, strong character, school pride, and unforgettable Wildcat moments!
Principal Molly Buford

ATTENTION DRIVERS!

Please watch the video below for important information regarding parking lot access and traffic flow. Driveway A is for buses and staff parking; Driveway B is for student drop-off/pick-up and visitor parking; Driveway C is for staff parking; and Driveway D is for student parking (parking permit required) and CTE visitors (check in at the front office first). Please do not use staff parking for student drop-off or pick-up. Doors open at 6:30 AM, and dismissal is at 2:45 PM. The car rider line must not double-park before 2:35 PM for safety purposes. Thank you for helping us keep traffic moving safely and efficiently!

Note: After-school sport-related food deliveries must not enter Driveway C or D before 3:20 PM. Please plan deliveries accordingly and help us keep student traffic and dismissal areas clear and safe.

Attendance Matters

September is here, and it’s our first FULL month of school! That means it’s time to make every day count!

We’re kicking off an Attendance Matters Giveaway!
Students who have PERFECT ATTENDANCE throughout the month of September will be entered into a drawing at the end of the month for some FUN GIFT CARDS and maybe even a few other exciting surprises!

So, Wildcats, here’s the challenge:
Come to school EVERY DAY
Arrive ON TIME
Stay engaged and make every school day count
Finish September with PERFECT ATTENDANCE!

Parents, help us make attendance a priority! Getting students to school on time and ready to learn is one of the best ways to set them up for success.

SHOW UP. BE ON TIME. MAKE IT COUNT.

Who’s ready to make September a PERFECT ATTENDANCE MONTH?!

Safety Is a Shared Commitment: August 31–September 4

At Splendora ISD, creating safe and supportive schools takes all of us: students, staff, families, and our community. During August 31–September 4, our campuses will participate in activities designed to strengthen safety awareness, preparedness, communication, and connectedness across our district.

Throughout the week, students will engage in age-appropriate conversations and activities that help them understand what it means to be Safe. Seen. Supported. From knowing what to do during an emergency and identifying trusted adults to understanding when to speak up and recognizing how individual choices contribute to a safer school environment, each activity reinforces one important message:

Safety is not just something we practice; it's a commitment we make to one another.

We encourage our parents and community partners to continue these conversations at home and to help us reinforce a culture in which everyone understands their role in keeping our schools safe.

Together, we are building a district where Every Student. Every Employee. Every Day. is Safe. Seen. Supported.

Become the Bridge. Change a Life.

Did you know that one trusted adult can make a lifelong difference for a student? Research consistently shows that when young people have a caring mentor, they are more likely to succeed academically, build confidence, make positive choices, and believe in their future.

That's what BRIDGE is all about.

The BRIDGE Mentoring Program connects caring community members with Splendora ISD students through meaningful, structured mentoring relationships that encourage academic success, social-emotional growth, leadership, and college and career readiness. Sometimes the greatest gift you can give a child is simply your time, your encouragement, and someone who believes in them.
Join us for our first BRIDGE Informational Meeting of the school year!

  • Monday, August 31
  • 5:30–6:30 PM
  • Coleman 6th Grade Campus – PLC Room
At this meeting, you'll learn:

  • What BRIDGE is and how the program works
  • The commitment and expectations for mentors
  • The positive impact mentoring has on students
  • How you can become a BRIDGE mentor and make a difference in the life of a child
Whether you're a parent, grandparent, business professional, retiree, college student, or community member, you have something valuable to offer. Your encouragement today could help shape a student's tomorrow.

Together, we can build stronger students, stronger schools, and a stronger community—one relationship at a time.
We hope to see you there!
